NOYC.org recently…uh, took a walk with local sailing and message board barker extraordinaire, Bad Dog. After stating that, “There really has to be someone more important to interview than me – no I guess not.†He agreed to submit.
NOYC – So what kind of name is that… Macho Slavich?
Bad Dog – Actually a very common name in Yugoslavia.where I was born. The city I was born in was Split…I took it as a hint and left soon afterwords, hell after I left they even changed the name of the country to Croatia.Back to the name..Well Porcupine Croatian Chihuahua wouldn’t fit on the birth certificate.and Maniacal Mutt & Perverted Puppy sounded too much like a cartoon, so my parents (having foresight) opted for Macho..
NOYC – So Bad Dog, what leg do you lift when approaching a tree?
Bad Dog– It would depend on the tree actually…if it’s a pine tree tall and thin. I aim better with my right leg up.oak trees well you can’t miss them so either leg up…bushes the same thing can’t miss them so it don’t matter.well except when cactus and yucca plants are all thats available.I just squat..
NOYC – At what wind speed would Bad Dog agree with the RC calling a race?
Bad Dog – Well BAD DOG and his fearless kennel of crew know if you can get out the harbor you can race.the worst thing ever invented for RC was predicted internet weather and wind speed instruments..hell when I was a puppy we wouldn’t even leave the harbor unless it was close to twenty..
NOYC – What’s your take on the CW that says you spank a bad dog when it piddles on the floor?
Bad Dog – I am not sure who or what is CW but I would love for someone to show me his or her floor…Piddle would be too nice a word for whats gona happen… then I would like to see if there actions can back up their mouth.I bet mine wouldn’t be the only piddle on the floor.
NOYC – Do you type using both paws?
Bad Dog – Silly boy at times I use all four.haven’t you seen my spelling and typing eroors . I acan control the front two it’s the back two I have a problem controling. And when I get real animated about a subject or about to give a BLOWZO award on the NOYC postin board, add a few fleas and damn even I don’t know what I wrote.
NOYC – What group would you be classified in at dog show?
Bad Dog – BAD DOG doesn’t do shows…but working group might fit as I am always working on something, a new plan, a new angle, a new idea or someones nerves.
NOYC – Who won the mock protest?
Bad Dog – As of now we haven’t had it yet..I would win if these bozos knew the rules but I here the BLITZED VET is lobbying pretty good so I wouldn’t put your money on whos right but who sucks up the best and who is willing to max out their bar bill…so bet on the other guy
NOYC – How much rum does it take for a Bad Dog to get to the top of a climbing wall?
Bad Dog – Wall, what wall !…Rum, what rum… OK, I had a few drinks. Let me state that it took more drinks to get BDB to take my leash off and allow me to make a fool of my self climbing that wall…Hey at least I made it to the top…better then some reporter I know (wink wink)..although the smallest of the Brierres beat me up the wall like my paws were stuck in the mud.
NOYC – Well you realize that I did make it up the right side. I just didn’t make it up the front right side because I stopped to assist a child who was having difficulty. So, moving on, what types of products do you use?
Bad Dog – Ok I bet you mean my hair (aren’t we ever going to get to the sailing questions?????)Â Some people advocate beer as a rinse and mayo as conditioner. But I prefer Red wine both taken internally and applied to the hair .in other words drink as much as you rinse with.or more. It gives my hair good stiffness in a blow and adds that shiny healthy look. It doesn’t hurt that a good Merlot tends to cover the gray a bit also.
Now I don’t want to RANT here but taking that question seriously.BAD DOG has many new toys this year.we are going to be coming out to do battle in a whole new suit of sails..Mains, it has two, no wait, one new tape drive main from UK ..A new secret weapon Gray main from North hand made by the Sultan of Sail.Benz himself. We aren’t actually going to sail with it.. we are just going to threaten too.Hell it cost so much I may frame it instead. One new 155 and a bullet proof blade (Real men don’t use 2’s)..we are in negotiations with several sail makers on a new chute and light #1. I got a question…Do these guys even live in the same monetary world the rest of us live in?????.Kevlar may be gold in color but it seems to cost more then the precious metal itself.It seems airex has surpassed the value of platinum and then they brag that the sails should.I repeat SHOULD…at least last you through this season. BAD DOG also has a new suit of wireless instruments that cost more the boat itself (wish I knew what all the numbers mean) I think these instrument manufacturer used to be a sail makers..Later this year we will add a little MOJO to the bottom. After all that I think I won’t be able to afford to sail in 2006… as I won’t have any money left for entry fees… Then there is the question ..will I need new sails .. will there be a new type of instrument I have to buy that year (more numbers I know nothing about)…and people wonder why we dogs chase our tails..I think
I will just have to go sail One Design..Oh my god not one design I don’t think I can be that stuck up..!
FYI – The stand-in dog used in the photo was not truly injured attempting to make its hair stand up. She is however, ‘Mama Rose’ and is currently up for adoption at the LA SPCA on Japonica St.
