Where’s the mark? Global Positioning System, or GPS is a tool which can quickly and easily determine your location and help you get to that “missing” mark and much, much more.
LPWSA Commodore and navigation guru, Margie Offan, will take the mystery out of how a GPS works and enlighten us to some of the amazing functions GPS offers.
If you have a GPS bring it along. We will play with the gizmos and explore the basics including: MOB, way points, go to function, tracking and generally getting the most out of this amazing tool.
L.A.S.T. for August @ Southern Yacht Club, date TBD — self rescue, man overboard and righting for a small sailboat (Flying Scot). Informal sailing study and optional brown bag dinner and/or happy hour (continuing each month).

The Sugar Bowl Football Classic has been a part of the national sports scene for over 80 years, welcoming fans from around the country to the city of New Orleans each New Year’s season. However, there is another Sugar Bowl event which has been in existence for just as long, and within its own arena, it’s recognized as one of the premier national yachting events – the Sugar Bowl Regatta.
